The Systems Engineering Research Development Institute (SERDI) is a small, woman-owned, certified 8(a)/Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) providing subject matter expertise (SME) services to Federal, State, and commercial clients. Founded in 2003 by a group of Information Technology experts, SERDI provides superior engineering and professional services to the Federal Government, Defense Contractors, and commercial industry.

SERDI offers comprehensive Cyber Security and Information Technology Engineering Services. Our full suite of services includes strategic planning and business processes, development, training, and program management- providing expert advice on substantive and methodological issues. In addition, SERDI offers complete Information Assurance (IA) services including Certification and Accreditation (C&A), security audits, FISMA compliance, and much more.

MENTOR-PROTÉGÉ

Integrated in our Small Business/Socio-Economic Business Program is an award-winning Mentor-Protégé Program. SERDI's participation in customer Mentor-Protégé programs is intended to further enhance our long-term relationships with other small businesses and help increase small business subcontract and prime contract awards. The SERDI Mentor-Protégé Program is a vital company initiative and is supported across our company.

Types of Mentor-Protégé agreements:

  • Credit Agreement (All Agency Programs): An agreement in which the mentor pays for the cost of developmental assistance for the protégé. The mentor, in return, is eligible to take credit for the cost of this assistance on the mentor-protégé report and on the government Summary Subcontracting Report (SSR/SF-295) in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Fee Reimbursable Agreement (DoD and NASA Pilot): An agreement that includes a separate contract, negotiated between the mentor and a government sponsor, to reimburse the mentor for certain developmental assistance costs incurred on the protégé's behalf. This contract contains measurable milestones and deliverables; periodic program reviews with the sponsor are conducted to measure progress.
